?Zinnia has a passion for food and a vision for her future. ? The eighteen-year-old has been in and out of the hospital her entire life due to a blood disorder diagnosis, but she hasn’t let it hold her back. Ultimately, Zinnia wants to go to culinary school, so when she found out she was eligible for a wish, she set her sights on what she’d need to support her journey and future career. Zinnia recently enjoyed a shopping spree for kitchen items and a surprise cooking class with Chef Janice and Chef Joel at Parigi. Together, they cooked up laughs, a delicious meal, and memories to last a lifetime. “If you don’t cook with love and a good attitude,” Zinnia said, “then it doesn’t come out as good.” Cook on, Zinnia!

Happy Pi Day! Emily wowed us with her talent at Stars of the South Plains last month, reciting 200 digits of pi by memory in just under 60 seconds to the beat of a song. She has been memorizing and reciting pi since the sixth grade and, now as an engineering PhD student at Texas Tech University, Emily is passionate about performing her fun and educational talent to get people excited about STEM-based subjects. Did you know? Pi is a mathematical value that refers to the ratio of a circle circumference divided by the diameter.
