On December 10, 2024, we had the honor of hosting a Compliance Training for PT Central Java Power. The training covered essential topics designed to help businesses operate ethically and meet regulatory standards. A key part of compliance is Good Corporate Governance (GCG), which helps companies make fair, transparent, and responsible decisions. When companies fail to comply with rules, they can face serious problems like legal penalties, financial losses, and damage to their reputation, which can harm their long-term success. In today’s business environment, compliance is more than a legal requirement, it’s a foundation for building trust, accountability, and strong ethical practices within organizations. Compliance means following laws, regulations, and company policies to mitigate risks and protect the company’s reputation. It plays a key role in keeping the business running smoothly and earning trust from employees, clients, and the public. The session began withopening remarks from our Senior Partner, Rahayu Ningsih Hoed, and Surya Rahman, Representative from PT Central Java Power, setting a positive and engaging tone for the day. The training featured three focused sessions: Harassment in the Workplace – presented by our Senior Associate, Hendrik Alfian Pasaribu, this session explored various forms of harassment, recent legal updates, and practical prevention strategies. Privacy & Data Protection – presented by our Associate, Golden Mandala, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding personal data under Indonesia's PDP Law to avoid breaches and mitigate legal risks. Compliance and Conflict of Interest – presented by our Associate, Adriano Firizky Camstra, discussing the role of compliance and strategies to manage conflicts that could affect professional decision-making. We thank PT Central Java Power for their dedication to promoting compliance and look forward to strengthening our partnership and fostering deeper collaboration in the future.

Indonesia strictly prohibits any kind of gambling, but this does not mean that its citizens cannot win exciting prizes through random draws. A “Free Prize Draw” is a legal way for people to win prizes at no cost. The Ministry of Social Affairs (“MOSA”) allows participation in lucky draws organized by licensed entities, as long as the winners are selected randomly. Recently, the MOSA updated the rules on free prize draws under MOSA Regulation No. 3 of 2024, which partially amends MOSA Regulation No. 1 of 2021 on the same subject. Our advisory explains the key updates introduced by MOSA Regulation No. 3 of 2024. Co-authored by our Associates, Aliya Ilysia Irfana Ampri and Kaila Arinta Nazneen, and our Managing Partner maria sagrado.
