Our September Maitri Services MAC adventure was one for the books! It all started with an early 7:00 am motorbike ride, where the team embarked on an unforgettable day immersed in nature. The journey took them along scenic riversides, with the team visiting the historic Nuwakot Durbar Square and the breathtaking Lauke Jharana waterfall. Along the way, they took a well-deserved break, enjoying traditional Nepali snacks like Sel roti, puri, tarkari (vegetable curry), and some much-needed hot tea. Even a flat tire under the blazing sun couldn't dampen the fun or the laughter!! After a full day of riding, they finally arrived at the waterfall at 5:00 pm. The team soaked in the beauty of the falls, feeling a deep connection with nature. As the sun set and they made their way back after a very long day, the team had a great sense of accomplishment and gratitude for the natural wonders and historical treasures Nepal offers. Maitri Services hosted a meeting for IT students from Himalayan Children's Charities who are currently in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of university. It was an exciting opportunity to introduce them to our software development world and give them a firsthand look at the various roles and responsibilities within a thriving tech company. During the office tour, the students learned about the different facets of software development where our CTO, Robert Woollam, shared insights on: ?? Software Engineering – details on coding practices, frameworks, and project management tools used at Maitri. ?? Quality Assurance – information on quality and functionality of our software is paramount. ?? Product Management – discussed how PMs work closely with engineers, designers, and clients to bring ideas from concept to reality, focusing on client needs and market trends. ?? DevOps & CloudOps – discussed the differences between the two and how our teams ensure smooth software deployment, reliable infrastructure management, and the continuous availability of cloud-based services. ?? Project Management – the students also learned about our project managers, who oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to make sure everything runs smoothly, coordinating with teams across the board.
