To remove sediment and mineral buildup: Flushing hydrants helps keep pipes clean of debris that can potentially cause color, taste, and odor issues. Flushing is essential for maintaining high water quality standards and ensuring firefighting readiness. The flushed water returns to the environment, rejoining the natural water cycle.

Locate your shut-off valve in case you need to shut off service quickly. ? Disconnect & Drain - Turn off outdoor faucets and drain exposed pipes. ? Seal & Insulate - Patch cracks near pipes and insulate exposed plumbing. ? Keep the Heat On - Maintain a safe indoor temperature, even when away. ? Keep cupboards open to let warm air circulate. ? Have a Plumber’s Info Handy - Quick action can prevent major issues. If pipes freeze: Heat the room, use a hairdryer, or warm water. NEVER use an open flame.
