Our Climate Desk team, which includes reporter Peter McGuire and editor Molly Enking, recently joined a crew of New England News Collaborative journalists on a visit to Vineyard Wind in the Gulf of Maine. This was their chance to see one of the hottest news topics, offshore wind, up close. Peter and Molly cover stories about climate, clean energy, the environment & more for Maine Public Radio News. Here's a look at some recent reporting from the Climate Desk: https://lnkd.in/gtNMfSX4 And here's a cool behind the scenes look at the adventure in the gulf that day: https://lnkd.in/gX4qPxES Maine Public’s Climate Desk is made possible by Androscoggin Bank, with additional support from Evergreen Home Performance, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, & Lee Auto Malls.

Last Tuesday, we held our first live audience event at 320 Cumberland Ave., our future Portland Studio! We kicked the day off with tours and an open house. In the afternoon, our team put on a live audience taping of Maine Calling with NPR Weekend Edition host Scott Simon, who then came back for an evening chat with Maine Public President & CEO Rick Schneider (and a meet and greet with some very famous newfoundland lifeguard dogs). THANK YOU to everyone who came out, and thank you to all the hardworking teams who made the event possible! ?? : Rebecca Conley

If you haven't heard, Maine Public recently purchased the former Portland Public Market building at 320 Cumberland Ave. We're so looking forward to moving our Portland studio to this new location in 2025. Yes, the gorgeous wood beam ceilings will remain, and yes, we will be holding public events in the space. In the meantime, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has made our work possible thus far. Here's a look at the space when we bought it. We can't wait to move in, and to have you over!
