Introducing a new adult series from the Maine Discovery Museum: Science Success Stories (recommended for high school students and up). While science has significantly improved our world, we often overlook these achievements as we move on to the next challenge. Science Success Stories offers an opportunity to explore and appreciate the many ways science has made a positive impact. For our kick-off event next Wednesday, September 11th (5:30pm), we're delighted to have Dan Kusnierz, Water Resources Program Manager for the Penobscot Nation, who will talk about improvements in the Penobscot River throughout his career. MDM helps people of all ages to discover the world around them through creative exploration and science.
关于我们
The Maine Discovery Museum (MDM) is a critical regional and state resource with a 20+ year history of serving our community. We have three floors of interactive exhibits, and robust science programming that takes place both within and outside of the museum. In the last ten years MDM has expanded to serve all of Maine, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), through educational outreach and programing, with much of it incorporated into STEAM programming. MDM is a vital community resource for public science education for Mainers from “cradle to gray.”

I love working with children, and when science is involved, it’s the perfect combination. I had a wonderful time presenting to middle school students at the Maine Science Festival at the Cross Insurance Center. We explored an exciting experiment—extracting carbon quantum dots from sugar! ?? ???? It was a fun and engaging way to spark curiosity and inspire young minds. Cheers to the future engineers, doctors, and scientists!

It was great to be back on the Husson University campus last night for the Maine Science Festival 5 minute genius headliner event! It was a great night and the more public events we can have to share the value and importance of science the better! Much thanks to Kate Dickerson and the whole Maine Discovery Museum team for a great festival!
