The Maine Career Exploration Program was created for 16–24-year-olds to explore careers through paid work experiences. Participants get to explore careers in Maine and get paid. A key part of the 10-Year Maine Economic Development Strategy, Maine Career Exploration is tasked with growing our workforce. This program will focus on digital economy skills that create upward mobility. We will forge community partnerships to connect Maine’s businesses with educational institutions, nonprofits, governments and unions. Through coordinated apprenticeships and internships, our students will gain valuable paid experience, while businesses attract and grow a highly skilled workforce. This synergy will support Maine’s culture of innovation and deliver solutions that benefit both employers and future employees to grow and power our economy.
