关于我们
In Maine, the Campaign for Justice raises money from the legal community in support of civil legal aid provided statewide by six organizations: Legal Services for Maine Elders, Maine Equal Justice, Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project, Maine Law Clinics, Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, and Pine Tree Legal Assistance. Civil legal aid assures justice for all in the justice system, regardless of how much money you have. It provides access to legal help for people to protect their livelihoods, their health, and their families. Civil legal aid makes it easier to access information - whether through easy-to-understand forms, including online forms; legal assistance or representation; and self-help clinics - so people can know their rights and protections - and advocate for themselves.

The University of Maine School of Law is proud to announce the renaming of its Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic to the Clinics at Maine Law. Thank you to Bangor Daily News reporter Erin Rhoda for her thoughtful and in-depth story. It illustrates both the complexities of intimate partner violence and the process of leaving for survivors. It also highlights the multiple service providers that often assist survivors like Marjorie Apsega at every step of their journey towards becoming free from domestic violence. These comprehensive services rely on Victims of Crime Act, or VOCA, funding to continue this critical work in Maine and nationally.
