Dear Friends and Supporters, What an incredible year it has been for NEMIC and the Rhode Island HealthTech ecosystem! Reflecting on 2024, I am overwhelmed with respect for the remarkable strides we’ve made together in advancing innovation and fostering growth in this dynamic community. This year, we supported our largest cohorts in the MedTech Leadership Program and the Accelerator Program. These initiatives continue to inspire us as we see the dedication and tenacity of our participants working to improve healthcare for patients worldwide. Together, they are shaping the future of healthcare, tackling some of the most pressing challenges, and bringing life-changing technologies to market. We are also at the center of a demonstrable transformation in Providence. Surrounding our location, new labs, research facilities, and collaborative spaces are springing up—proof of the rapid development of our ecosystem and galvanized by the RI Life Science Hub. NEMIC sits at the heart of the landscape, where bold ideas and cutting-edge science will continue to come to life. None of this would be possible without the ongoing support of our partners, sponsors, mentors, and the broader community. Your dedication and belief in our mission have pushed us forward, and we are deeply grateful. Together, we’re not just envisioning the future of healthcare; we’re building it. As we look to 2025, I am excited about what’s ahead. New initiatives in the State will catalyze collaboration, funding, and resource-sharing, fueling a vibrant ecosystem that is rapidly expanding. We’re excited to see more startups, researchers, and industry leaders choosing Rhode Island as their base for innovation. Last Thursday, we gathered with 187 attendees—our largest turnout yet—at our Biannual HealthTech Pitch Night & Showcase, and the energy in the room was buzzing! Rhode Island’s life sciences ecosystem is growing rapidly, driven by innovation, collaboration, and tenacity, all of which were on full display. Congratulations to our Pitch Event winners: ??
