Every founder has a unique drive to innovate. Some are motivated by the thrill of discovery or the power of success, and others, like Veergen Inc.'s founder and CEO Gustavo Garcia Jr, are inspired by personal experience. Suto, PC ?? The conversation uncovered many factors that contribute to costly challenges that founders often face and offered guidance on how to navigate the peaks and valleys along the way. ?? Congratulations to our Bruin Founders companies on a job well done! If you're interested in connecting with them, please reach out to our team. - Amir Nasajpour, Entropic Biosciences, Inc. - Jeff Cohen, Leadoff.ai - Mark van Zee, Saku Biosciences - JOSELITO LAO, Stenella AI ?? The $10M Mistake ?? ?? Had an amazing time at California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA thanks to Nikki Lin and the amazing Magnify Incubator team’s warm welcome as eLabNext sponsors its 1st UCLA Founders Mixer ?? ?? ! I’d like to share a few notes from the amazing panel: Michael Howse - pick a large market, so you can easily pivot as technology and customer needs change. Also, when building a team, especially with highly functional and opinionated people - set the ground rules right from the beginning! Josh Green - product market fit research is essential, but what also gets overlooked, is type of management at the startup. Collegial, as opposed to “Founder Mode” or traditional hierarchy seems to be the best in a startup environment. In addition, you need to have an unfair competitive advantage to compete. Jeff Suto - you need to find the top 2-3 customer problems, and not lose sight of this. Focus on the core mission, especially now when the money is tight! Kelly Kaihara, PhD - team or tech? What’s more important!? Expertise can be learned and developed/hired - a symbiotic team is difficult to create if it’s not there at the beginning! Investors are also looking for transformational leaps, and not for incremental growth - what’s your secret sauce that will transform the industry? Thanks to all the organizers, Sofia R. & the rest! Big thanks to Alisha Simmons-Ramirez and Ethan Saltzman for building a community here in CA! Until next time! Thanks to HATCHspaces ? for co-sponsoring along with us! #Biotech #AI #NanoTechnology #Panel #LifeSciences #DLP #ELN #LIMS #BioPharma #Clinical #LLM #ML #GeneTherapy #NanoMaterials
