Autonomous Engineering®

关于我们

MAGMA stands for robust and innovative casting solutions, as well as a strong partnership with the metal casting industry. MAGMA’s product portfolio, based on Autonomous Engineering™, leads to robust and cost-effective solutions in component design, tooling lay-out and production. MAGMA was founded in 1988 in Aachen, Germany. MAGMA now has 9 locations worldwide serving the foundry and die casting industries. Before simulation, the metal casting industry was completely dependent on the experience of foundry experts, "Tribal knowledge" and trial and error when it came to the casting process. Early adapters recognized the revolutionary potential of using software to predict what happens during the casting process to avoid or reduce the need for excessive and costly trials (and errors) on the shop floor. MAGMASOFT® not only predicts the solidification and cooling of a casting but offers solutions for a large diversity of quality determining factors. The software provides quantitative answers for any cast material and considers the entire process including core making, tool design, heat treatment and machining. Today we have realized even more: Simulation has become AUTONOMOUS ENGINEERING! To benefit from this technology in the best possible way, we have coupled MAGMASOFT® autonomous engineering with a systematic methodology, which we call the MAGMA APPROACH. For our customers to work proficiently and for us to clearly stand independent of our competition, MAGMAacademy provides ongoing training, seminars, workshops, and webinars. MAGMA provides hands-on support in person at your location or on the phone. Our engineers not only know MAGMASOFT® they know the foundry and die casting industries. Most of our engineers have worked in either a foundry or die casting facility. Both training and support staff focus on our customers and their organizations being successful, not just on our users being able to use MAGMASOFT®.

  • MAGMA’s Evan Letourneau will be speaking at the American Ceramics Society symposium next week, discussing the thermophysical properties of investment casting shells and their impact on simulation accuracy. 📌 Thermophysical Characterization of Investment Casting Shells for Enhanced Simulation Accuracy Accurate simulation requires precise shell property data—yet many foundries lack access to this critical information. Evan will highlight: ✅ Key properties needed for reliable casting predictions ✅ Laboratory tests to measure them ✅ How shell manufacturers can add value with better data Better data means more accurate simulations, fewer defects, and lower costs.
