?? Maersk continued to deliver strong business performance in the third quarter with growth across all business segments and financial results significantly above last year. On the back of the strong quarter combined with robust container market demand and the continuation of the Red Sea situation, on October 21 we upgraded our guidance for 2024. ?? Ocean delivered substantially increased profitability and responded to the recurring network disruptions with high agility by leveraging our hub terminals and investing in capacity and equipment to mitigate the supply chain impact on our customers. ?? Logistics & Services delivered a strong quarter with revenue growth due to increased volumes across most product families and continued steady recovery of profitability. ??? Terminals continued to deliver strong revenue growth, particularly in North America where volume remained strong. Both volume and revenue per move reached all-time highs during the quarter. Maersk is excited to endorse the Global Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Zero-Emission Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles by CALSTART and Drive to Zero and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands. ? ???Decarbonizing road transport requires policy attention, regulatory incentives, and investment in grid infrastructure. Public-private collaboration is crucial, and Maersk aims for a net-zero emission vehicle fleet by 2040. ? Signed by Morten Bo Christiansen, our SVP and Head of Energy Transition, he said, "Making the switch to medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles (MHDVs) comes with multiple operational and business benefits including lower maintenance and fueling costs, improved handling, and lower vibration for drivers, as well as healthier air in the communities these vehicles serve. ??The Global MOU and the growing list of signatories are instrumental.?The technology is ready and will continue to advance, but without strong demand signals from transport industry providers and customers, and support from legislators through firm emission reduction targets and investments in infrastructure, adoption risks being too slow."
