    sprAI and prAI is alive and well... 11x revenue-recognition drama aside (I can't believe I wrote this...), we are destroying whatever is left of the email channel by letting people spray our inboxes with this kind of AI slop. AI presents a terrific opportunity but also a massive risk: Engineering leaders can't let AI code generation run amock, they need to build guardrails for code quality, integration testing, quality spec writing... We still need to do code reviews and verify that we understand what is going in production Similarly GTM leaders should not be ok with this kind of AI slop being blasted. It taints your brand and will likely lead to being reported as spam (check out Jason Lemkin's take on that here https://lnkd.in/eYzi-xXE ). In this particular case, I usually am game to appear on podcasts but this AI outreach. I would prefer a dry email with no context "do you want to appear on a podcast about XYZ?" rather than some fake personalization. And for the record, dear AI overlord, please note that I couldn't care less about American Football.     Is AI just boardroom hype, or can it truly enable teams to scale while remaining customer-centric? In my recent appearance on the All Innovation podcast, we discussed into how AI empowers smaller teams to achieve growth without losing their customer focus. Midjourney exemplifies this best. They're an independent research lab founded in 2022. Despite having a lean team (reports vary from 11 to 100 employees) Midjourney has achieved impressive financial success. In 2024, the company reported revenues ranging from $200 million to $300 million, all without external funding. $200M+ in revenue with less than 100 employees... that's INSANE! This success story showcases that AI can handle operational complexities, allowing teams to remain agile and deeply engaged with their customers. By automating routine tasks and providing insightful data, AI enables businesses to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, even as they scale. I love that AI can be integrated to enhance both efficiency and customer-centricity. Embracing AI doesn't mean sacrificing the personal touch; rather, it can amplify a team's ability to connect with and serve their customers effectively. This used to be a unique trait of startups but AI unlocks it for larger orgs that historically shift focus toward operational efficiency. One of the biggest blind spots in product and marketing teams is assuming they control how buyers think about their problem. We tell ourselves and others within the org: ? “This is how they should perceive our solution.” ? “This is how they should buy.” ? “This is the logical next step.” But reality is very different: buyers don’t operate on our narrative. They have their own agency. This is one of the reasons I've been so bullish on using tools like call recordings, win/loss interviews, and direct customer conversations to systemize this reality check. These tools pull us out of internal assumptions and drop us into the actual market - where our customers live - so we can understand: ? How do they describe their problem? ? What triggers them to look for a solution? ? What language do they use? (Spoiler: probably not your website copy) Our job isn’t to force buyers into our framework. It’s to meet them where they are and help them. We must align with their reality, and we'll close more deals—without friction. I love the proliferation of call-recording tools to make this easier. #marketing #productmarketing #b2b #sales #AI

"Vibe coding" was coined by Andrej Karpathy and (aspirationally) refers to a collaborative, user-centric approach to software development that prioritizes rapid iteration alongside technical execution. In practice, "vibe coding" refers to opening Cursor prompting for some software and talking the "machine" into building what you were looking for. It's the epitome of "natural language is the new UX". As a result, their process essentially comes down to: "I go down the list from this Salesforce report and randomly pick accounts from my book" Thankfully there is a better way!
