The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) is seeking public comments to help shape a Federal Evidence Agenda on Disability Equity. Following Executive Order 14091, which aims to advance racial equity and support underserved communities, OSTP's Subcommittee on Equitable Data (SED) formed the Disability Data Interagency Working Group (DDIWG). This group, composed of officials from multiple federal departments and agencies, is working to develop an Evidence Agenda that will enhance the government's ability to make data-informed decisions to advance equity for the disability community. Members of the public are invited to share your input on the diverse needs and experiences within the disability community, and how these can be best captured in federal data. Disability-related disparities, accessibility, data security, and civil rights are among the topics covered. Please submit your comments directly to the RFI. The comment period is open until July 15, 2024.

People with autism are given blue envelopes containing information about their condition to keep in their car so they can provide them to officers during traffic stops, accidents or other situations.

New regulations will prohibit health care providers from making treatment decisions based on biases about disabilities and require that accessible exam tables and other equipment be more available.
