    There obviously aren't enough podcasts in the world (I'm kidding, of course) so I figured, what the heck, I should finally start one covering all things rental housing -- multifamily and single-family rental data, news, complaints (yes, complaints), some housing trivia (I want to equip you for your next happy hour event) and conversations with interesting people. The first two episodes are now live on your favorite platforms -- YouTube, Spotify and Apple. Just search for The Rent Roll with Jay Parsons. Links in comments below if needed. Episode 1 covers THE CASE FOR MIDDLE-INCOME HOUSING where I'll share some recent research showing how attainable and affordable housing isn't just a charity -- but a smart investment. And I'm joined by my friend Bob Simpson, formerly of Fannie Mae and now head of the Multifamily Impact Council. Episode 2 covers DEBUNKING A FEW MULTIFAMILY MYTHS -- sharing data on market-rate affordability, and then continuing the multifamily mythbusting with my friend and the CEO of BSR REIT, Dan Oberste, who talks the joys and challenges of running a publicly traded Sun Belt apartment REIT. The first couple episodes reflect that I'm very much a work in progress in the podcast hosting world. I can't not think about all the things I wish I did differently. But I promise we'll keep improving it -- and would love any feedback on how to make it better. The goal is to cover apartments and SFR in depth -- operations, investment, development, policy, etc. -- balancing data and commentary and interviews.
