Sadly, a friend to many and an icon in the Fitness Equipment Finance Industry has passed away.?Dan West is remembered for many things, including his humanity, intelligence, consistency and friendship.?He was respected by all who worked with him, as partners, clients or vendors. Dan was always able to find solutions and convey them with clarity and elegance.?He set the bar in developing long-term mutually rewarding relationships. Dan started Macrolease as an independent leasing company in 1969.?He steered the company through many economic cycles and always did so with grace, honoring every obligation with vendors, borrowers and banks alike. In 2005, Macrolease was acquired by Bank Rhode Island. Dan continued to manage the division until his retirement in 2019. Among other things, Dan will be remembered as a teacher who set a positive example of how to push forward every day, in good and bad times. He will be sorely missed by his many friends, colleagues, his amazing wife Candy, his children and grandchildren. His message and methods will continue to flourish and thrive via the many whom he influenced and mentored.
