We’re thrilled to announce that Macro Oceans has been selected for funding by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s MACRO program. Together with our collaborators at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, we will explore novel - and profitable! - ways to convert kelp into ethanol. This new iteration of our zero-waste concept will help to expand domestic demand for kelp, reduce U.S. carbon emissions, and build a scalable pathway to kelp-based Sustainable Aviation Fuels. Our mission is to build a big kelp economy for a low carbon future. We're excited to announce that Macro Oceans is joining forces with Everything Seaweed. Colin Hepburn and Jessica Chalmers are fantastic innovators in this space and we're so excited to get to work side by side with them building a regenerative kelp industry. In addition to this, we're excited to share that we've raised an additional $2.5M in seed funding led by Refactor with participation from McKinley Alaska Private Investment, Knollwood Investment Advisory, and Schox Patent Group. Together, our combined team will use this funding to expand capacity to meet demand of our our flagship product,?Big Kelp Hydration, as well as extend our product offerings into new areas in beauty and beyond. We’re excited for what the future holds!

Big day for Macro Oceans!

Big time results call for big time change. Our clinical trial earlier this summer proved what we already knew to be true: our ingredient packs a powerful punch, delivering huge hydration without the carbon. So we’re taking a page out of our own book and glowing up —?Hydrating Marine Polysaccharides is now Big Kelp Hydration. Big Kelp Hydration is still the same ingredient you know and love, but now with even more street cred. In our most recent in-vivo clinical trial, we tested it against a placebo and found that it hydrated skin 80% better. But Big Kelp Hydration isn’t just a moisturizing hero: the study also showed immediate improvement in skin barrier protection and skin luminosity.
