Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer's

Sunday, March 23, 11am-1pm The Twig Book Shop, 306 Pearl Pkwy, Suite 106, in San Antonio, TX, I’ll be doing a book signing for "Mackenzie Meets Alzheimer’s Disease Picture Book" (a book I co-wrote with Alder Allensworth) and for the "The Caregiver’s Advocate" to which I contributed the chapter: 'The Alzheimer’s Conversation: Why and How to Include Children.' If you have children or grandchildren and want to introduce them to Alzheimer’s in a gentle fun way because you have a loved you’d like them to better understand, our picture book is the perfect introduction to the disease. The unique feature of this book is that it comes with the download of a story song whose lyrics are the text for the book so there are many ways to engage with the information. If you’re a caregiver, or may one day be a caregiver, The Caregiver’s Advocate is a great resource to prepare you and help you through. Speaking of resource, it has a great list of Resources in the back with a QR code to scan so you’ll have all those resources at your fingertips. Please come by The Twig and say “Hi!” Thanks!

I attended The Care Sanctuary during SXSW sponsored by Rendever where I met for the first time in person Patti LaFleur, M. ED, CDP from Lorenzo's House, Carrie Aalberts, MS (@dementiadarling), and Nicole Will (willGather) with whom @MacekenzieMeetsAlzheimers has been in contact. I also met James Lee and Kyle Rand and was introduced to their incredible work at Belle Groves and Rendever. It was an intimate group of caregivers who attended (one I brought) and the husband of one caregiver with early onset. The heart of this group was palpable. Thank you, Rendever, and all who welcomed and embraced us.

TV Feature Reporter & Storyteller, Britt Leoni, introduced how the journeys that have touched both our lives for many years have become our passion and purpose to now help others on their dementia journeys.
