Our team at Mack Research has just completed our Mobile Testing Trailer construction last week! Our first stop was the University of Southern California to give a demonstration and discussion to the MBS Building Science program where Casey Castor our Co-founder is an alumni. The presentation noted the importance of learning research methodoligies, cleantech market trends and grant funding. Lots of engaging questions from the students and wonderful rapport from the MBS faculty on our solution and work. Thanks to Kyle Konis, Ph.D, AIA, Karen Kensek, Douglas Noble, Ph.D., FAIA and Joon-Ho Choi for letting us come by USC and share with the MBS program! This project was developed and funded with Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) through their Incubation program. The trailer was custom designed over the last 6+ months and built by our in-house team over a short (34) day period. The mobile testing center has a telescoping mast system that raises our novel vertical wall wind leaf technology out of the roof of the trailer to take in real-time testing conditions. The trailer is equipped with a 4kwh battery and 400 watts of solar to support additional power production while testing in remote microclimates. As shown at USC, it has demonstration capabilities with an exterior facing monitor system connected back to a Raspberry Pi computer and a series of sensors showcasing the data collected in real-time. Our team is very excited to showcase our innovation through this pilot solution and provide local education to the LA region. This just in – U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced $9.8M in vouchers that will be used to support 111 organizations to accelerate market adoption of clean energy technologies. Congratulations to the selected organizations. ??
