Certified Welding Inspector Position Summary: Machinists Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Inspector to join our team. The Welding Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all welding activities are performed in accordance with industry standards and specifications. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of welding processes and techniques. Job Type:????Direct Hire Pay:?????????????$38 - $45.00/hr (DOE) Benefits:????401(k) (company match), Health, Dental and vision insurance Paid time off Shift:???????????Monday – Friday (6:00am – 2:30pm) On-Site:??????Seattle, 98108 Responsibilities: - Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications. - Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds using various methods such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and radiographic testing. - Interpret and evaluate NDT results to accurately locate and identify weld defects. - Review welding procedures and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. - Ensures all safety precautions and welding parameters are followed. - Performs weld fit-up inspections to ensure all drawing specifications are met. - Checks individual weld passes. - Provide guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure that welding activities are performed in accordance with industry standards and specifications. - Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all welding activities. - Collaborate with other departments to ensure that welding activities are integrated into the overall project plan. Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Certification as a Welding Inspector from a recognized organization such as the American Welding Society (AWS). - Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in welding inspection. - Maintains Licensing Requirements (CE’s, etc.) - NDT Level 2 License preferred but not required. - Strong knowledge of welding processes and techniques. - Experience with load, leak, and vacuum testing. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to read and interpret welding procedures and specifications. - Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects in welds. - Proficient in MS Office Suite. - An understanding of SolidWorks would be an advantage - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods of time. - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. - Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. - Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a respirator, safety glasses, and hearing. Our Gear Division recently conducted its annual Emergency Action Plan fire drill as part of our preparation for the event of a fire, earthquake, or other disaster. Qualifications / Skills: ·??????A minimum of five years’ experience in precision machining and welding, as well as knowledge of gears and gearboxes, would be an asset. ·??????An understanding of geometric tolerances and the ability to read complex drawings. ·??????A minimum of two plus years of experience in accurately bidding and constructing high tolerance machines, fabrication tooling and assemblies would be an asset. ·??????Planning and managing machine work would be an asset, but not a requirement. ·??????A strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing. In addition to our already highly qualified team of manufacturing and machining professionals, the Sales/Estimator will be an important addition to the team. Qualifications and Skills: ·??????10 years’ experience in a manufacturing job shop environment. ·??????Proficient in SolidWorks, Weld drawings, Blueprints and MS Office. ·??????Bachelor’s degree in welding would be an added advantage. ·??????Soldering Certification would be an added advantage. ·??????Create weldment drawings that include step-by-step instructions for employees. ·??????Knowledge of metal alloys and welding processes. ·??????Experience in rigging and lifting practices and devices. ·??????Press brake experience. ·??????TIG and MIG welding skills in a variety of materials (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium). ·??????Experience with AWS, ASME or other welding specifications. ·??????The ability to lead by example with regards to quality and workmanship.
