Gen AI Friendsgiving! and a prelude to Sloomoo After Dark! Thanks to all who joined us last week at The KINN for a community pot luck get together, and chance to hear what creators amongst us are working on. We got to see some sneak peeks to upcoming works from Max Einhorn, Ian Eck and Joseph Damiba among others. We even got an impromptu live and spirited debate about that notorious Coca Cola ad moderated by Jagger Waters. Plus a "Prompt Off Battle" using Leonardo.Ai and krea.ai's Realtime Canvas features, 60 seconds of head to head sudden death to see what your fingertips and brain is capable of. Good holiday fun! ? IP Against the Machine! We've shared the winning videos, but sharing some of the scenes from last week's amazing event that we co-hosted with Freepik. At each of our events, we continue to evolve and experiment with our #AIRL model, trying to tap into what is not just in the zeitgeist, but in the air among our creators. We've done lots of music video challenges but this time, with our growing community in SF we wanted to tap more deeply into storytelling. It's a creative muscle we flex more natively in the shadows of the Hollywood sign in LA, but putting into practice the spirit of democratizing access to creativity, it's fun to see folks more deeply in the tech community coming at this challenge with a different craft and mindset. The challenge this time was to revisit public domain literary IP, classic iconic characters that are perhaps due for a reboot or a remix, something that Generative AI tools are very good at helping with. In this Gen Battle cohort we saw takes on Dr. Doolittle (the winning film!), the Big Bad Wolf, Greek Goddesses (re-dubbed "Mean Gods"), and a scary take on Winnie the Pooh, among others. Tonight, I attended the AI Film Battle in San Francisco, where me, some creative types and developers gathered to create films (trailers really) using gen AI. Attendees used ChatGPT, Midjourney, Freepik, Luma Ai, Viggle and other tools to create the most hilarious movie trailers. It was fun to see what my team could come up with in 3 hours....and here is my team's final work of art - in less than 70 seconds :) It's riff on Mean Girls staring none other than Athena her self - an homage to my company's (AthenaAchieve Consulting) namesake of course And we got 3rd place in the WTF category :) A special shout out to Fred Grinstein and Minh Do from Machine Cinema hosting tonight and to the Freepik team as well.

?? I participated in the 'Gen AI Short Film Battle SF' hosted by Machine Cinema last Thursday—and our team won the 'Most Likely to Be a Movie' category! ?? The challenge was to create a short film or teaser for a famous public domain IP while creatively reinvent the concept—all within just 3 hours. Our team's concept was "The Untold Story of the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood" ??? We reimagined the origin story of the Big Bad Wolf, transforming the classic "Bad Guy" into a more sympathetic character in our retelling. To bring this film to life, we used: ??? Scene generation: MidJourney ?? Image to video: Hailuo AI ?? Narration: ElevenLabs ??? Editing: CapCut The process was filled with tons of creative prompting. Huge thanks to the team for amazing teamwork! ?? Final Film down in the comments! ?? It was such a great opportunity to experience how gen ai can be applied across image, video, and storytelling.
