Congratulations to Bruce Glass, FACHCA who has been elected to the ACHCA Hall of Fame and will be inducted at the national convention in April. Bruce is a former MA Chapter President and one of the driving forces behind the formation of New England Alliance In Conjunction with District One of ACHCA. The ACHCA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the American College of Health Care Administrators over an extended period or have provided a unique and lasting contribution to the College.?

At our conference John Ruffner, Owner of Skilled Cyber will present "Best Practices for Utilizing Artificial Intellegence (AI) in Senior Living". John will provide the knowledge to implement Al ethically and effectively. He will utilize real world examples of Al deployed in senior living communities. His presentation will include insights on how to identify, manage, and mitigate potential challenges in implementing Al specifically in the senior living space and explore the fundamentals of Al models, highlighting their capabilities and applications. Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of risks associated with Al, along with the essential steps for adopting Al responsibly.

Christopher Leazott, Esq., Senior Associate Attorney at Cohen Cleary, P.C. will address issues including but not limited to MassHealth applications, appeals, and denials, and recovering payment for current or past due invoices.?His presentation will highlight how legal counsel can assist facilities avoid and/or remedy issues that nursing homes experience causing significant financial burdens. He will also discuss how facilities can identify issues early in the admissions process and how the facility can take precautionary measures to ensure that payment will be received for the services provided. At our conference Kellie Sanders, Partner at Cohen Cleary, P.C. will address heath care facilities’ obligations for informed consent for medical treatment and issues surrounding health care proxies, when a guardianship is needed, the authority and the powers that guardians have, and the need to stay in compliance when prescribing antipsychotic medications. She will also discuss when a conservatorship may be needed and how a conservatorship can be utilized to ensure payment for services.
