MC Harry’s mission is to empower people by design. We are purposeful (by design) about providing the design team (clients and their staff, consultants, and our staff) with what is needed to produce high-quality projects within budget and schedule. We were recently honored by the American Institute of Architects Miami Chapter as the Firm of the Year. The award recognizes a practice that has consistently produced distinguished architecture successfully blending the art and science of the profession. MC Harry Associates offers innovative solutions to help our clients conduct business more efficiently, save money, and maintain schedule. Our ability to work through a project’s challenges with innovative planning and design gives our clients the freedom to implement the improvements they require. Each project is developed within the context of long term objectives, affording us the opportunity to incorporate strategies that facilitate future growth.

MCHarry was thrilled to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Village Café at the historic Superintendent’s House this Sunday! We’ve had the honor of restoring three iconic 1920s structures—the Paint Shop, East Gate Lodge, and Superintendent’s House—bringing them back to life with new utilities, infrastructure, and finishes while carefully preserving their historic character. These beloved buildings have been transformed to meet today’s standards while staying true to their original charm, and we can’t wait for the community to enjoy their new purpose. One such project that resonates deeply with us is the restoration of Opalocka City Hall, a building that stands as a testament to South Florida’s rich cultural heritage. Originally built in the 1920s, Opalocka City Hall is an iconic example of Moorish Revival architecture, inspired by the One Thousand and One Nights. Over the years, it has weathered the passage of time, standing as a symbol of resilience and community. When we were entrusted with the task of restoring this historic landmark, we knew we weren’t just repairing a building—we were breathing new life into a treasure that connects past generations with the future. Our team worked meticulously, respecting the original craftsmanship while integrating modern techniques to ensure longevity and sustainability. From the intricate details of the façade to the structural integrity of its foundation, every element of this project was handled with care, expertise, and a profound sense of responsibility. Seeing the restored Opalocka City Hall stand proud once again is a moment of great pride for our team. ✨ I am grateful to have had the opportunity to share my perspective on the importance of intergenerational connections in the workplace last week on the Professional Panel at the annual IIDA South Florida Chapter (SFC) New Year, New You event. The coversations and keynote discussions truly inspired me to rethink my approach to collaboration, mentorship, and generational inclusivity. The insights shared by our incredible moderator Anjell Karibian and co-panelists Lourdes Fernandez Echemendia, RA, Alejandro E., Leandro Lujan Milian, and Stacey N. Boynton, RA, AIA, NOMA helped form a diverse dialogue to understand what lessons we can learn from each generation in the workplace. A sincere thank you to my mentors at MCHarry & Associates, Inc. for your daily support and encouragement. Miami Dade College is the home of one of Miami's most iconic symbols - the Freedom Tower. This week, Emilio Estefan and Gloria Estefan hosted the launch of our Freedom Tower Centennial, and the announcement of the Centennial Committee. This group of community leaders will help us continue to preserve the tower's legacy and significance for generations to come. The Freedom Tower will reopen in July of 2025, just in time for its 100th anniversary, with a completely reimagined visitor experience and the Libertad permanent exhibition. We could not be more honored to be embarking on this once-in-a-generation project at Miami Dade College. It will be transformative for our community.
