We’ve had the honor of restoring three iconic 1920s structures—the Paint Shop, East Gate Lodge, and Superintendent’s House—bringing them back to life with new utilities, infrastructure, and finishes while carefully preserving their historic character. These beloved buildings have been transformed to meet today’s standards while staying true to their original charm, and we can’t wait for the community to enjoy their new purpose. One such project that resonates deeply with us is the restoration of Opalocka City Hall, a building that stands as a testament to South Florida’s rich cultural heritage. Originally built in the 1920s, Opalocka City Hall is an iconic example of Moorish Revival architecture, inspired by the One Thousand and One Nights. Over the years, it has weathered the passage of time, standing as a symbol of resilience and community. When we were entrusted with the task of restoring this historic landmark, we knew we weren’t just repairing a building—we were breathing new life into a treasure that connects past generations with the future. Our team worked meticulously, respecting the original craftsmanship while integrating modern techniques to ensure longevity and sustainability. From the intricate details of the façade to the structural integrity of its foundation, every element of this project was handled with care, expertise, and a profound sense of responsibility. Presenting Del Prado Elementary Boca Raton Navigating the Challenges of K-8 School Photography sessions Scheduling a photography session at a K-8 school is no small feat. Between coordinating with contractors, architects, teachers, administrators, and students, finding the right time can feel like a complex puzzle. The goal is to minimize disruption while capturing the vibrant energy of the school design. Once I get the green light, the real work begins. On-site, I face the challenge of maintaining a clean, safe environment for everyone involved. This means sometimes extensive cleanup while setting up in a way that respects the space - quickly transforming classrooms and hallways into ideal spaces worthy of the portfolio, all while ensuring that students can continue their day with minimal interruption. And let’s not forget the cleanup! After wrapping up the shot, it’s essential to restore the space to its original state, leaving no trace of my presence. This attention to detail is crucial, as I want to honor the school’s environment and community. In post-production, the work continues. I sift through countless images, carefully selecting the ones that truly capture the essence of the school. Each edit takes time and precision, ensuring I present the best possible narrative. The process is challenging but incredibly rewarding. Every shoot tells a story, and I’m proud to contribute to the rich tapestry of K-8 education.
