    There are two ways to deal with challenges: talk about dealing with them or do something. Over a year ago, we chose to do something about the challenges facing communities and small businesses, not because of historic external economic threats, but because communities and local businesses need help reaching their full potential. Maybe, just maybe, the lessons we are learning now will fundamentally alter how we make decisions. Rather than buying products from thousands of miles away from people we don't know, hopefully we'll?purchase products made in our communities from people we know. LUVLOCAL has made local shopping the easiest way to shop. It was great to spend time with local business owners last night talking about transforming our local economies.     What an incredible Holiday Season experience, re-inventing a family tradition and refocusing it with a local lens. Gingerbread house kits made in factories thousands of miles away are purchased for the Holidays. This year, we took on an ambitious idea: offer locally made gingerbread kits with all proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club. We weren't sure what response we'd get, knowing many of our purchasing behaviours were entrenched regarding holiday traditions. To our surprise, we could barely keep up. It's been incredible to see the community response, and it's a powerful example of how @LUVLOCAL can innovate the way communities can reach new heights of collaboration. All kits were made locally, purchased online and delivered to doorsteps within days of ordering. We are continuously inspired by local business owners and looking forward to a fantastic 2025: coming to a community near you. Lemonade Ltd.

    This time of year, we typically buy gingerbread house building kits made in factories hundreds and thousands of miles away, and we have no idea where our money ends up. Now, we can buy kits made by hand, locally, with proceeds going to a charity that supports our youth. Yes LUVLOCAL is an e-commerce and delivery platform, but it’s also an integrated platform that will strengthen our local economies. Think local. Act local. Shop local like never before.

    Let's meet some faces behind LUVLOCAL.?James Rasmussen?has?been pushing?the envelope in his career for the past 20 years.?10?years ago, he co-founded?Lemonade Ltd., an integrated strategy and creative agency that has worked with clients worldwide, from the most significant strategic projects to the most tactical executions. James started a movement called the Miracle Project a few years ago that helped communities fight back against food insecurity during COVID-19. The Miracle Project would break the world record for the largest food drive in history and would break its record six weeks later. With the backing of Lemonade and thousands of volunteers, the Miracle would come to life in many communities across Canada and?end up raising?over 5,000,000 pounds of food, feeding hundreds of thousands of families in need. After that experience, James and his business partner?Sharon Brunetta?vowed to use their expertise and resources to continue battling for communities. LUVLOCAL is their next battle, helping communities shop local like never before. Their vision is simple: help communities reach their full economic potential.

    LUVLOCAL MAKES A PROMISE OF A LIFETIME AND OPENS FOR DELIVERY ACROSS ONTARIO FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 07/16/2024?In a sign of LUV for small businesses in Chatham-Kent, LUVLOCAL will be free forever for local entrepreneurs, a promise that’s been made by the integrated local shopping platform. “The passion and support that we’ve felt from vendors over the past seven months has inspired us so much, and we’ve realized how much help businesses need, and we want to step-up and give back to the community,” said Moréna McDonald, Co-Founder and Vice President of Business Relationship at LUVLOCAL. LUVLOCAL is a platform that helps local businesses get set up with a website including full e-commerce capabilities, provides delivery logistics to get products to doorsteps, and helps businesses with communications support. The team at LUVLOCAL works efficiently and can have businesses set up within a week, providing them with the ability to reach thousands of new customers incredibly quickly. “The vision of LUVLOCAL is to help communities reach their full economic potential, and we do this by allowing small business owners to focus on what they love, and we focus on what we LUV, helping them grow, while taking stress away for small business owners,” said McDonald. Being able to facilitate these kinds of growth opportunities for Chatham-Kent businesses is an incredible feeling after so much hard work in collaboration with our vendors.” Non- perishable products can now be delivered across Ontario, and perishables within 100 kilometres.
