  • LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Jael?(Trinity - Hobart, Indiana),?Michael??(LCC Staff) and?LCC Comfort Dogs in Training Gethsemane, Glory, and Honey?attended the?United Airlines Flight Attendant Safety Fair?at?Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The handlers and Comfort Dogs had the opportunity to connect with flight attendants, pilots, and administrative staff. Many pilots and flight attendants expressed their gratitude, sharing that their jobs prevent them from having dogs, making the chance to cuddle with the Comfort Dogs especially meaningful. Others who do have pets but were away from them cherished the time spent with the dogs. One pilot, preparing for a long and challenging flight, said that spending time with the comfort dogs truly made his day. ? The importance of being present with the flight attendants, pilots, and staff of United Airlines was clear to the teams. These dedicated individuals bear significant responsibility each day, ensuring the safety and security of passengers aboard their flights. Witnessing their faces light up with smiles and their shoulders relax, finding comfort and peace in the moment, highlighted the value of these visits and the care and compassion provided by the handlers and ministry partners. ? We lift up in prayer the flight attendants and pilots for God’s strength, wisdom, and patience as they navigate the challenges of their job. We ask for God’s protection, both in the air and on the ground. We pray they find joy in their work and a sense of purpose in serving others. ? "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life."?(Psalm 143:8)

  • Lutheran Church Charities President/CEO Rev. Chris Singer met with U.S. Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) at Our Savior Lutheran in Arcadia, California, during a Spiritual First Aid? (SFA) training workshop in the wildfire-ravaged region. Rep. Chu, who represents California’s 28th district, presented a Congressional Recognition certificate to Our Savior Senior Pastor Eric Eichinger at a fundraising concert, commending LCC’s care and equipping efforts in Southern California. “LCC is grateful for Rep. Chu’s support as we help communities recover,” Rev. Singer said. “She thanked our volunteers, partner churches, and staff, calling them amazing.” Before the concert, eight congregation members completed a 2?-hour SFA training led by Rev. Singer and Jeanette Singer LPC, a licensed psychotherapist. SFA equips churches to provide peer-to-peer spiritual and emotional care in their communities. "Our Savior benefitted greatly from LCC as we begin our ascent out of the ashes of the LA fires," said Pastor Eichinger. Though the Eaton Fire is contained, its impact remains. Seventeen lives were lost, and over 9,000 structures were destroyed in the Altadena-Pasadena area during the 3?-week blaze in January. “The devastation is heart-breaking,” Rev. Singer said. “But God is raising up His people to bring care and comfort, and we are called to join Him in this mission.”

  • February 13-15, LCC Staff and LCC K-9 Comfort Dog teams have been blessed to be present at the 2025 Best Practices for Ministry Conference in Phoenix, AZ. This incredible conference, hosted each year by Christ Church - Lutheran, provides a place of renewal, encouragement, and inspiration for ministry workers as they share the love of Christ. We are deeply grateful to Christ Church - Lutheran for their faithful hospitality and dedication to equipping pastors, church workers, and ministry leaders. Throughout the conference, the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs have drawn so many people to sit with us, share how they are doing, and talk about their ministries. Ministry work is a calling filled with joy, but it is not always easy. In caring for others, it's easy to forget to care for ourselves. We are honored to provide a moment of comfort and encouragement to those who give so much of themselves in service to Christ and His people. Thank you, Christ Church - Lutheran, for creating this space where ministries can grow together in faith and service! • Happy Valentine’s Day! Today is a beautiful reminder of love, but not just the kind found in cards or chocolates. The greatest love of all is the love of Christ—unconditional, unending, and freely given. “We love because He first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19 As we celebrate today, let’s share His love with those around us. A kind word, a helping hand, or simply being present can be a powerful way to reflect God’s love. Who can you share Christ’s love with today? #ValentinesDay #LoveLikeJesus #ChristIsLove

  • We’re grateful to have our LCC Hearts of Mercy & Compassion memorial in the French Quarter appear on the pregame coverage of today’s Super Bowl. May those impacted by the horrific attack last month continue to find the peace, comfort, and hope found only in Jesus.

THANK YOU, LCC DONORS! At Lutheran Church Charities, we regard financial transparency and integrity as central to living out our mission of sharing the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus Christ with those who are suffering and in need. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry working throughout the United States and abroad with partner churches to provide material, emotional, and spiritual support to hurting individuals and families. We operate with a dollar-in/dollar-out funding process in which EVERY penny given with designation goes directly to that cause until the need is met. We acknowledge all gifts and ensure that donated money is used as intended. LCC exists because of the generosity of its financial donors and the dedication of its volunteers. We do NOT receive or accept any funds from federal, state, or local government. To our donors, I say thank you from all of us at Lutheran Church Charities. We are grateful for you and thank the LORD for your ongoing support. Blessings! Rev. Chris Singer President/CEO Lutheran Church Charities
