Leaving the world Lusher than we found it ??

About us

Every brand builds itself on a philosophy. It’s what defines them, shapes them, makes or breaks them. It’s what prompts people to gravitate towards or turn away from them. Our approach to skincare keeps in mind that everyone is unique, and that applies to their skin, too. We believe in allowing skin to function naturally, with as little interference as possible. We love products that benefit the skin in a gentle way. We appreciate that you’re the person who’s most familiar with how your skin behaves and reacts to the changing seasons and products you use, and we’ll always be there to help you find the perfect products and skincare routines. We believe that fresh is best. While fruit is growing on a tree, it receives a constant flow of energy. As soon as it’s picked, it starts to decompose. The sooner we use it, the higher its nutrients and the greater the benefit to your skin. With that in mind, we regularly stock our fridge with the finest, freshest ingredients ready to be mixed together and turned into your favorite products. A great example is our Fresh Face Masks, which are made and sent out to stores every week so that your skin can soak up the benefits of all the nutrients and enzymes packed into each mask. It’s the freshest way to keep skin happy! We incorporate our strongest beliefs into the sourcing, production and selling of each product. We never test on animals, nor do we work with anyone who does. Plus, we’re passionate and resolute when it comes to our sourcing process. We put so much love and care into our products, and it’s vital for us to work with suppliers who do the same. Our dedicated ethical buying team is tasked with researching and meeting with suppliers whose values align with ours. If they tick all the boxes, they go into our skincare products.

  • ?? What if your daily routine could help restore nature’s balance? Rewilding isn’t just about big conservation projects—it’s about small, everyday actions that can bring us closer to nature. For 3.8 billion years, life on Earth has created a delicate balance. But today this balance is at risk. Did you know that of all the mammals on the planet, only 4% are wild animals? The rest? Humans (36%) and animals we raise (60%). This isn’t just a statistic—it’s a call to action. Here at Lush, we’re taking action by supporting biodiversity in our supply chain and our local communities. From sustainably sourcing ingredients like salt, patchouli and tonka beans to supporting the reintroduction of the Ospreys and Sea Eagles in Poole Harbour, the birthplace of Lush in the UK, we are committed to protecting ecosystems while helping the people who depend on them. But rewilding doesn’t stop there. It’s also about letting gardens thrive, eating a plant-rich diet, advocating for policies that protect biodiversity, and reconnecting with nature. By rethinking what is part of our routines, we can all play a part in restoring the balance. Ready to take the first step toward rewilding your routine and making a difference for biodiversity? Learn more about how small changes in your every day habits can create a thriving future for nature—and for all of us. ?? ?? • ?? Did you know that nearly 75% of the candidates running for Congress this past election were male? It’s time for a government that truly represents the people it serves. ?? To support groups working towards diverse representation in elected office, we’ve created a limited-edition bath bomb that donates 75% of the purchase price (minus the taxes) to this important work. ?? A Billion Bright Stars Bath Bomb features our bestselling Rose Jam scent, starry luster, and bright Sicilian lemon oil to help uplift spirits and communities. ??? “Vice President Harris’ herstoric presidential campaign inspired millions of underrepresented people to work towards a stronger democracy, which she noted in her concession speech. • ? Lush Scent House: An Aromatherapy Sanctuary ? Happen to be wandering around Toronto’s Eaton Centre this weekend? Make sure you follow your nose to our Scent House pop-up. We chatted with the masterminds behind this activation, Lush Brand Events Project Manager, Elizabeth White, and Brand Marketing Lead, Barbara Tavares, about the event's purpose, how it came to be and what it’s like curating such an experience during Taylor Swift's Toronto takeover. Liz, tell us about the Scent House – what is it? With three unique scent rooms you’ll be surrounded by soothing fragrances, engaging activities and calming music – the perfect atmosphere to transport yourself to a place of relaxation and connect with your inner calm. Ok, and how did this event come about? Rooted in aromatherapy, this activation focuses on wellness and self-care, offering a moment of calm amid the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. The Scent House offers three distinctive rooms inspired by loved Lush scents: Sleepy, Gourmand, and Snow Fairy. Customers can discover their unique scent layering by engaging with each room and Lush Scent Experts. Barbara, what’s been your favourite part about curating this activation? The best part of these pop-up events is the creative freedom to bring unique ideas to life. The concept of "free aromatherapy" started as a playful remark from one of our co-founders Ro in a meeting back in January, and it stuck with me. It’s been so rewarding to develop this wellness-focused experience from that spark of inspiration! Personally, I’m most excited about the Gourmand Room. I love baking, and the holiday season is when I bring out my favourite sweet treat recipes. This room feels especially close to my heart—it’s warm, and nostalgic, and perfectly captures the cozy essence of the holidays. Ok, so why Toronto? Toronto is one of our key markets, with the Eaton Centre shop ranking among our top 50 globally. It’s also home to our manufacturing and compounding teams, making it an ideal location for this activation. Plus, with the Taylor Swift Eras Tour aligning with our holiday campaign, the timing was perfect to connect with our target audience in a meaningful way. We’re also excited to involve the incredible local Toronto team. This event taps into six GTA-area shops for staffing, providing an opportunity for our local shop staff to contribute to a larger, collaborative Lush experience. Last question, how has activating amidst the chaos of the Eras Tour impacted you and your work? The Eras Tour has been a huge influence, especially on the design of this activation. We’ve woven in subtle nods (easter eggs if you will) for Taylor Swift fans, particularly in the Snow Fairy Room, where we made the whole place shimmer!! The energy of the tour has inspired us to make this activation a truly memorable and joyful experience for both Swifties and Lush fans alike!

  • Let’s get out the vote! Your voice matters. ? In celebration of #NationalVoterRegistrationDay this September, we partnered with the League of Women Voters to host 91 voter engagement events in Lush shops nationwide, empowering customers to make their voices heard in the upcoming election. By harnessing our grassroots presence, we focused on meaningful face-to-face interactions with our community. Lush stores and local League chapters led the way, creating events tailored to their unique communities. Together, we sparked over 3,600 conversations about local candidates, ballot measures, and voter registration, with many participants taking home vital voting information or joining the League of Women Voters. “The League of Women Voters is incredibly proud to partner with Lush, a company that shares our commitment to empowering communities to build a healthier and more equitable democracy. Opening up Lush stores to our local League chapters across the country allowed them to engage new voters about the upcoming election through in-person conversations about issues relevant to their community, an organizing tactic that we know works in increasing voter turnout," says Celina W. Frightening but true: Halloween's impact on the environment is scarier than you think. Did you know: ?? Approximately 83% of Halloween costumes are made from non-recyclable plastics, resulting in around 2,000 tons of waste that can take anywhere from 20 to 200 years to break down. ??According to Forbes and the National Retail Federation, residents of the US purchase nearly 600 million pounds (about 272,000 tonnes) of sweets each year for the celebration—equivalent to the weight of six Titanic ships. ??Most candy wrappers are composed of plastic combined with materials like aluminum, making them non-recyclable due to contamination. This mixed material composition makes recycling them more challenging. ?? But it doesn't have to be this way. Here are a few ways to make this Halloween more sustainable: ?? Opt for reusable decorations like our Knot Wraps and candles. ?? DIY costumes using materials you already have. ?? Consider alternative treats—bath bombs or tricks, anyone? Our eco-friendly Halloween collection is a great option for those looking to reduce their environmental footprint this season. Here are some boo-tiful ethical sourcing stories behind our ingredients: ?? The Shea Butter in our Pumpkin Crumble Bubble Bar is sourced from the Ojoba collective in northern Ghana, empowering a rural women’s group and creating positive social, economic, and environmental impacts. ?? The Organic Virgin Coconut Oil in our soaps and Ghost In The Dark comes from Aceh, Indonesia. Our partners at āluān work with over 500 smallholder farmers on the island of Simeulue, supporting sustainable practices and sea turtle conservation. ?? The Organic Jojoba Oil in the Batcurrant Lip Scrub is grown sustainably in Peru’s Ica desert, where it's cultivated without harmful chemicals and with minimal water use through drip irrigation. ??? The 100% Organic Cotton in the Fright Night Knot Wrap is grown and ginned Madhya Pradesh, India, before being sent further South to Tamil Nadu where it is spun and woven. The fabric is then screen printed by artisans at a traditional Sari printer where colors are matched by eye by an ink mixing master. All inks used are certified to be free of SVHCs. (Substances of Very High Concern). ???? Ready to make this Halloween a little less frightening for our planet? Explore our collection here: https://bit.ly/3Yub5xQ
