The Ball State University - College of Architecture and Planning hosted the 2025 Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning Alumni Awards on Monday where Erin Jennings was recognized as an Outstanding Alumni. "Erin developed a strong passion for directly influencing positive human behavior and enhancing the learning experience, shaping her nearly 20-year career dedicated to education and public library environments. Her deep-rooted passion is mentoring young professionals, and teaching students in the collegiate setting." 2024 Trailblazers ?? With applications closing this month we are highlighting yet another 2024 Trailblazer trip! This time to sunny Barcelona, Spain, with Luminaut Interior Designers, Lauren Eichberger, RID, NCIDQ and Amanda Malchiodi RID, NCIDQ. In Barcelona, these Trailblazers drew inspiration from the breathtaking colors of La Sagrada Família, the ornate mosaics in Park Güell, and the harmonious curves of the Casa Batlló. 2024 Trailblazers ?? With 2025 applications closing this month, we're shining a spotlight on our 2024 Sallie Rowland Trailblazer Scholarship winners! Last fall, Interior Designer Anisa Nelson (Begbudi) traveled to Istanbul, soaking in its rich history and capturing everything from the beautiful Balat to the historic Hagia Sofia and everything in between. Anisa's Trailblazer submission included a book of hand-painted watercolors that not only gave us an inside look of the beautiful things she planned to see on her travels, but showcased yet another one of her incredible talents. A piece of architectural history meets modern-day design. ?? The Ingalls Building in downtown Cincinnati made history by becoming the world's first reinforced concrete skyscraper. This daring feat of architecture and engineering pushed the limits of what a building could be. When we take on a historic preservation project, our team works tirelessly to uncover the background of what went on within these walls many years ago. Understanding what once was helps guide us through design. We studied historic photos and postcards to redesign the windows, removed drop ceilings to uncover original crown molding details, and incorporated color schemes inspired by the Erie Canal that once ran through downtown. The Ingalls Building now inspires work and relaxation as an award-winning, 126-guestroom Courtyard by Marriott hotel with LEED Gold certification.
