?? Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! ?? At LULAC, we celebrate the heart of Latino culture—family! This month, we honor the values of togetherness, love, and shared meals that bring us closer. Gathering around the dinner table fosters connections, strengthens bonds, and preserves our rich traditions. Today is #LatinaEqualPayDay — a reminder that Latinas must work nearly 23 months to earn what non-Hispanic White men make in just 12. The wage gap is even larger for Latina mothers, a quarter of which are the breadwinners for their family. This gap represents more than a paycheck—it’s about opportunity, equity, and economic justice. The gender wage gap between Latinas and White men will not be closed within the lifetime of anyone working today unless we take action to change these trends. Today, on #LatinaEqualPayDay, we honor the contributions of Latinas in every industry and continue the fight for equal pay. How can you support the fight for equal pay? · Advocate for policies that promote pay equity. · Support Latina-owned businesses. · Share information and raise awareness. Together, we can make a change!

On Saturday, September 28, the National Education Association invited LULAC to present on our remarkable partnership, highlighting our shared legacy of fighting for public schools, empowering the most vulnerable, and building an educational workforce that truly reflects America. The Spanish saying, "Dime con quién andas y te diré quién eres," translates to "Tell me who you're with, and I'll tell you who you are," perfectly encapsulates our collaboration. Together, we are committed to advocating for higher teacher pay, implementing fair assessment methods that account for English language learners, and empowering more Latino educators to shape the future of our communities.

On September 21, we hosted a successful Día de la Familia Health Fair in San Antonio, uniting community leaders, advocates, and healthcare professionals to promote healthier lifestyles. This event, held in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, was proudly led by Power Home Remodeling Group, recognized by Fortune as one of the 'Best Companies to Work For.' In partnership with LULAC, we focused on addressing healthcare disparities in Latino communities, where nearly 18% lack health insurance. Through initiatives like the Power for Good Foundation and the Mi Gente Employee Resource Group, we are dedicated to fostering social impact and community engagement. How can a home remodeling company and a #Hispanic civil rights organization change the lives of local citizens? Click here to find out: https://lnkd.in/dEeSsDSX We’re excited to announce POWER’s partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). We’re granting $100,000 to the nonprofit in celebration of this collaboration and our #commitment to the diverse #communities where our people live and work. #CompanyCulture #LifeAtPower #HispanicHeritageMonth #Partnership #CommunityEngagement
