Building Pathfinder 1 started with the mainframes, which provide the structural foundation of the ship. The largest mainframes are 66ft in diameter, helping to maintain the iconic cigar shape and house the bulkheads that separate and balance the gas cells. Prior to being integrated into Pathfinder 1, nearly every system was tested and validated using our full-scale test section. This test section is a replica of mainframes 2 to 4 of the real Pathfinder. Taking you behind the scenes to our Helium Room, where our team monitors the helium purification and distribution process for Pathfinder 1. Using real-time data and LiDAR, we track helium levels in gas cells to ensure optimal flow and purification. Our system features dual manifold controls for high-pressure helium, purifiers, and suction and low-pressure ports for efficient and precise redistribution. Our Pathfinder 1 airship is fitted with 12 electric motors, developed in collaboration with Pipistrel.
