Congratulations to the 2025 Shell Case Competition winners. In this annual challenge, LSU business and engineering students work in teams to develop and present an effective solution to a realistic business problem related to the energy industry. 1st place: Caleb Bowers, Donovan Carney, Assane Ndiaye, and Preston Young All team members are seniors majoring in industrial engineering. This is their first Shell Case Competition. 2nd place: Nathan Calamia, A’nya Cannon, and Julian Romano All team members are majoring in finance. 3rd place: Adam Bourque (Information Systems & Analytics), Anh Do (Finance and Information Systems & Decision Sciences), Dylan Peterson (Finance and Computer Science), and Wesley Powell (Information Systems & Analytics) Thanks to Shell for providing students with this opportunity to develop critical thinking and presentation skills. Congratulations to the Ourso College faculty who received awards from the 2025 Provost's Fund for Innovation in Research: ?Anmol Soni - LSU Department of Public Administration - will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team of LSU faculty to develop a new, sustainable, and energy-efficient approach to building design, construction, and operation in coastal communities. ?Paola Ugalde - LSU Department of Economics - will lead a project to examine how political polarization has impacted college enrollment over the past five decades and analyze the growing partisan divide in views on American higher education. ?Andrew Schwarz - LSU Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship & Information Systems - will organize a symposium series on digital twin technology, virtual representations of real-world systems which can be used to simulate and predict behavior.
