LSU Manship School of Mass Communication

Last week, 20 students and two faculty members traveled to New York for the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) Student Advertising Career Conference, where students learn about the field of advertising, discover industry trends and ignite their career by networking with knowledgeable advertising professionals. This trip was organized by LSU AdFed, the University’s chapter of AAF housed at the Manship School of Mass Communication. On Day 1, the group visited Rokt and Lippe Taylor for agency tours. On Days 2 and 3, they hit the conference scene, attending brand immersions, participating in sessions on the latest technology and consumer demands, and meeting recruiters for internships and jobs. Our students even participated in a brand refresh competition, where they chose to revive the Heelys brand by connecting it to Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences—ALL IN ONE HOUR.
