?? Celebrating Literacy and Community at Shades Mountain Elementary! ?? Last Friday, the Office of Workforce Development had the honor of closing out Read Across America Week at Shades Mountain Elementary School. It was a joy to see the excitement on the faces of the kindergarten and second-grade students as our Workforce Development Specialists, Joshua Caton and Tanisha Rankins, shared the magic of reading. Josh had the special privilege of reading?"Josh and the Flat Cows", a self-published book written by his father, Bill Caton. What made this even more meaningful? Several illustrations in the book were created by Josh himself when he was a student at Shades Mountain Elementary! It was a full-circle moment that highlighted the power of creativity, family, and lifelong learning. A huge thank you to the staff, teachers, and students at Shades Mountain Elementary for welcoming us with open arms. Initiatives like these remind us of the importance of fostering a love for reading early on and the role it plays in shaping future leaders, innovators, and dreamers. Let’s continue to invest in our communities and inspire the next generation! ??? #ReadAcrossAmerica #WorkforceDevelopment #CommunityEngagement #LiteracyMatters #Education #FullCircleMoments
