Claymont McDowell Transportation Center has won the state’s top Engineering Excellence Awards prize! ?? ? The project received the 2025 Grand Conceptor Award at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Delaware’s annual celebration during National Engineers Week. ? The $91 million Claymont McDowell Transportation Center is a major boost to the economic and cultural vibrancy of the community north of Wilmington, DE. This multi-modal hub along Amtrak's Northeast Corridor offers access to trains, buses, walking trails, the East Coast Greenway, sidewalks, and mixed-use paths for pedestrians and cyclists. Restored and ready for a new lifetime of use. As Hurricane Matthew passed through Horry County in 2016, it destroyed a beacon of community pride: the Surfside Beach Fishing Pier. LS3P partnered with Collins Engineers, Inc. to reconstruct the local landmark with resiliency and longevity in mind; the new pier is comprised of a concrete base with timber decking, strengthening the structure against coastal threats while lowering maintenance costs. ??: Matt Silk #ls3p #architecture #MYR #design
