In honor of the 2024 AIA Aspire Conference + Climate Symposium, LS3P asked team members to share their personal connections to placemaking and climate-centric design, and why this event inspires them. Urban Designer Kara O. highlighted her interest in holistic community impact – the intersection of human-scale planning, ecological vibrancy, and sense of neighborhood pride – as a key driver in her decision to attend this conference. Practice Professional Ioulia Georgiopoulou was inspired by the women-led speaker lineup, as well as the opportunity to gain insights into equitable and sustainable design practices. Swipe to learn more about LS3P’s sponsored attendees and what they’re looking forward to at this year’s conference ??

Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) is emerging as an innovative strategy for sustainable design in the Southeast. Our region has an ample supply of southern yellow pine, and is in the process of retooling from our robust timber economy to capitalize on the benefits of engineered wood. CLT is also able to be installed up to 30% faster than a comparable precast concrete structural system, allowing this method to increase efficiency across the built environment. Read more about CLT in our latest research piece: https://lnkd.in/esxfUQsj

A show-stopping renovation propelled Hotel Bardo onto Condé Nast Traveler's hot list of Best New Hotels in the US this year. The historic property - neighboring Savannah's Forsyth Park since 1888 - has been carefully curated into a bespoke hospitality experience. Designed in partnership with Atelier Pond and LEFT LANE, Hotel Bardo boasts an expansive pool deck and four sophisticated bars and lounges - each with its own distinctive style. Guest rooms, common areas, the spa, restaurants, and event spaces were reimaged to embody a coastal Italian aesthetic. ??: Mike Worthington #ls3p #hospitalitydesign #Hospitality #hotel #architecture
