Even after I finished my undergraduate degree, I had little idea that the work I currently do even existed. So always keep an open mind and be ready to take the next opportunity when it arises." That school year (1985-86), I happened to read an article in Seventeen Magazine on the topic of girls’ and womens’ underrepresentation in the STEM fields. That article did it for me. I set my sights on a college degree in engineering and have never looked back or regretted it." ????????????????????? ???????????? ?? ????????????????????:?"Almost every environmental problem boils down to an energy problem. Planet Earth has lots of water—but it takes energy to purify it, transport it, or collect it. We already know what it takes to avert excessive accumulation of climate-warming gases—but it takes energy to capture those gases, and it takes energy to power transportation, warm homes, and run businesses. I am optimistic that engineering and technology will play the heroes’ leading roles in mitigating a warming planet."
