It was an eventful week at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican ?? ? WNBA star and Gainbridge Ambassador Caitlin Clark took part in the Women’s Leadership Summit where Group 1001 President and CEO Dan Towriss presented her with the 22nd?#ParityWeek grant in honor of her number. The $22,000 check was written out to the Caitlin Clark Foundation and will aid in uplifting and improving the lives of youth and their communities.? ? In addition to the Women’s Leadership Summit, she teed off in the pro-am with World No. 1-ranked Nelly Korda and legend Annika Sorenstam. The pairing drew incredible crowds and kicked off the tournament on a high note.

Meet Jolene Lu: A United States Air Force Veteran Lu joined the United States Air Force in August of 1996 after graduating from high school. She served as a Communication and Navigation Systems Journeyman through August of 2000. During her time in the military, Lu worked as a specialist on C-130H Hercules aircraft assigned to the 40th Airlift Squadron at Dyess AFB, Texas. Looking back on her career, Lu credits much of her success to those four years spent in the United States Air Force. Not only did she meet her husband through that experience, but Lu gained valuable skills such as teamwork, discipline, integrity, and structure, which have applied to each role she has taken since then. This certainly applies to her time at the LPGA Tour, where she started as a Financial Accounting Analyst in 2021 before transitioning to the Epson Tour, where she works as a Senior Coordinator of Tour and Member Services. “I have a strong numbers background, but I found myself wanting to gain more exposure to the game,” Lu explained. “When I transferred to the Epson Tour, a whole new world opened up for me. I love being out at tournaments, talking to volunteers on-site, and working with our team to support our world-class athletes.” Lu will never forget the doors that opened following her time in the Air Force, and she will always take pride in having served the United States. With Veterans Day on Monday, we wanted to take a moment to pause and recognize the incredible sacrifices made by veterans within the LPGA, across the nation and abroad.
