I believe in the power of female rolemodels to inspire more women to step in and up in every arena. So proud to share that the VILLOID AWARD - WOMEN OF THE YEAR 2025 (VILLOID Prisen - ?rets Kvinne 2025) is held in Norway for the second time, in conjunction with the international Women's Day 8. March. Thankfully, female empowerment is a super engaging topic. In under a week, people nominated more than 6000 inspiring women from entrepreneurs, explorers, athletes, opinion leaders and activists, influencers and business leaders. Even more impressively, the jury-elected finalists have now received more than 40 000 votes (You can still vote here: https://lnkd.in/dHAN-yMF). The winners are elected 5. March in Oslo, Norway. Why Villoid? Villoid has become the largest shopping destination for women in Norway in record time, we are growing fast, our revenue is surpassing 40 MEUR, we are profitable and we have a community of 350 000 + women. Thus, we have a strong voice. And we want to use it for something we believe in. And with this years engagement and thousands of people involved, we believe The Villoid Award - Women Of The Year, is one way of doing just that<3. ?? Standing at the top of the World Cup Downhill course, I realised just how extreme this sport really is. 130 km/h. 80 meter jump. I few tiny inches between victory and disaster. Watching it up close gave me a whole new respect for these athletes - and their mindsets. Last weekend, we were lucky to get our hands on two golden tickets to the World Cup event at Kvitfjell (huge thanks to May Sundvall Andersen and the awesome Spenn team for making it happen! ?? Tone Skavleb? Schultz Aas, Christoffer Sundby). We had the privilege of meeting Aksel Svindal, one of the greatest alpine skiers of all time, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, five-time World Champion, and two-time overall World Cup winner. As we went through the course, designed by Bernhard Russi, the mastermind behind some of the sport’s most challenging tracks, Aksel shared the small but crucial details that make all the difference: where to commit, when to adjust, and how to carry speed through the turns. He talked about how tiny margins decide everything, just inches, split-second decisions, and finding the fastest line. We then had the chance to hear from an inspiring panel led by Nina Haver-L?seth featuring: ?? Alexandra Meissnitzer - Double World Champion and one of the sport’s all-time greats. ?? Ragnhild Mowinckel - Norwegian alpine skier, double Olympic medalist, and specialist in giant slalom, super-G, and downhill. ?? Key Takeaways from World-Class Athletes: ? Injury tests resilience. Ragnhild shared that the hardest part isn’t just physical recovery, it’s learning to trust your body again. The key? Managing insecurities, trusting the process, and turning setbacks into motivation. It took a full year to recover but she came back stronger than ever. ? The illusion of control. At these speeds, you’re never fully in control, so the key is learning to let go, trust your instincts, and stay present in the moment ? Mastering pressure means knowing your moment. The best skiers don’t just react, they anticipate. They commit at the right time, hit the apex, and accelerate with confidence. Whether on the mountain or in life, mindset makes the difference and this weekend was a great reminder of that.
