I’ve always wanted to help people but being a manager didn’t pique my interest until I had a female associate store manager for the first time. "Can you donate materials for a lemonade stand?” ??? “We’ll BUILD you the lemonade stand.” A few weeks ago, a customer was looking for a materials donation to make a lemonade stand for a Senior Citizen Memory Loss Unit Event. That’s where Camila and Manny stepped in to not only donate, but BUILD the lemonade stand and make a difference in their community. “It's very rewarding to support our community in a time of need and give back to a great cause that unfortunately affects so many. I did not know what this would look like, but I was truly honored one day when he handed me a certificate of appreciation that was signed by him and other peers on his team. I could see him begin to cry tears of joy when he handed it to me. He recently found out he has an illness, and he doesn't even like to say the name. My mother died of some type of that illness. For him to get his team together in such short time for this kind act is honestly top tier in my Lowe's experience so far. Every time I look at that photo and see the way he is looking at me with such respect, that alone tells me that I am doing a good job.
