?? ?? Launch of Cleantech Friendship Group unites 32 MEPs with President Ursula von der Leyen to accelerate EU cleantech leadership???? ?? ? Yesterday the Cleantech Friendship Group (CFG) officially relaunched in the European Parliament, bringing together 32 MEPs representing 14 EU Member States to champion Europe’s clean industrial revolution. Following a keynote speech from European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the group reaffirmed its commitment to driving policies that create strong demand for clean technologies, foster innovation, and ensure Europe remains competitive in the industries of the future.? ? President von der Leyen emphasized the Commission’s dedication to scaling up #cleantech and unlocking large-scale private investment, a core pillar of the #CleanIndustrialDeal, announced last week: ? “The Clean Industrial Deal is a key pillar of our competitiveness-driven approach to decarbonisation, providing EU cleantech companies the certainty and targeted support they need to scale up and industrialise. My colleagues and I at the Commission will work closely with the Parliament to pass an ambitious Clean Industrial Deal and secure Europe’s leadership in the industries of the future.” ? CFG co-chairs Lídia Pereira (Vice-Chair EPP Group, Portugal) and Thomas Pellerin-Carlin (S&D Group, France) stressed the importance of a unified European approach to cleantech. By bringing together a diverse coalition of MEPs from across the political spectrum, the CFG will play a crucial role in shaping Europe’s Clean Industrial Deal by advocating for technology-specific targets, sustainable public procurement, level-playing field measures, and strategic investments.?
