Triton is a cute older pitbull with just the sweetest face and pretty brown & white coat! He can be shy, but is sweet with people and I would say he is lower energy. Easy to walk and a great size! ?? Playgroup notes: Calm, friendly, quiet, a bit unsure at first. He seemed to prefer other mellow dogs and was curious. Got into small scuffle when he was licking a dogs face and didn’t take a correction. Had good interactions and coexisted nicely. Overall did well. ?? Best match would probably be a calm friendly female dog but he’d also do just fine as a solo pup. Regardless of temperament in shelter, slow intros are key to success with every shelter dog (weeks, not hours or days)!! ?? Shelter notes: “ He was very easy to leash and walk outside. He would walk up to other dogs with stiff body and high tail sniff them then walk away then if he saw the dog again he was all happy to see them. He allowed all over touch but didnt seek out more attention. He just wanted to do his own thing. When giving treats watch your fingers as he can be mouthy. He was very curious when outside walking around sniffing everything. He needs a strong experienced handler ” ??I am not sure why “strong experienced handler” is in all caps on his kennel card. Triton has shown me to be fairly easy to handle for a dog savvy person, no red flags or anything. Don’t let this note dissuade you from meeting him! ?? He's friendly, fun, and affectionate. Also, how can u resist those ears and smile. I really feel he will make the best companion. He bonded with me almost immediately and was very connected to me while we were in the yard. Totally a velcro dog everywhere i went he was right by my side. I LOVE THIS DOG!!?? ??Bender was also evaluated by a professional. This was her feedback: Gray and white pointy eared Pitbull. He was very sweet with people and easy to get out of the kennel. This is a very energetic dog. When meeting the female dog, he wanted to be more than friends. With the male and female dogs, he comes in hot upon introductions, but there were no signs of redirecting into the trainer. He is just a very excited young dog. The odds are stacked against him - he’s an early senior, likely has hip issues as he struggles to sit and walks stiff, and he’s at risk of losing his precious life this Saturday. As a GSD lover, it breaks my heart to see a wonderful, loyal, intelligent, and beautiful breed on the euth list every week. Bravo needs a responsible and committed adopter, foster, or rescue with GSD or working breed experience to step up for him! A kind and thoughtful volunteer has been using blankets to make a makeshift bed in his kennel, but they do not get replaced when his kennel is cleaned. He needs a soft landing and extra TLC to live out his golden years. ?? Bravo has a quirky personality. Despite feeling the discomfort of his age, he still has a playful side to him. He loves to play fetch and play with toys. If you take too long to throw the toy, he’ll have a few words with you about it or he’ll destroy the toy, haha. Bravo loves treats! He can be a bit mouthy, which isn’t a big surprise for his breed. He’s easy to leash up and walk, he knows a few commands such as “Sit,” and seems to be potty trained. While Bravo doesn’t seek affection, he does allow pets. I’m sure after he’s had time to decompress and get familiar with his person, he’ll become more affectionate. This poor old man is having a hard time in a hard place. ?? Bravo has a forward type of personality around other dogs. With a male dog, he pulled and barked, which can be off putting. However, with a female, he did better with his greetings and allowed her to greet him from behind. If there’s another dog in the home, Bravo will probably do better with a calm, neutral female. ?? And a pocket size at only 46lbs? Perfection!? This girl LOVES people, she knows no stranger and is so sweet all the time! Cauliflower is past the crazy puppy stage, I would say she is low to medium energy. She loves to jump up to greet, basic manners are something to work on with treats but she’s easily handleable.
