Costs, scheduling flexibility, and control over the patient experience drive many of our clients' decisions to build their own office-based surgery suites. Custom designing the suite and accompanying clinician rooms opens up a wide range of opportunities for practice growth. Do you have questions about the cost and timeline of embarking on an OBSS project? Peruse our guide, or get in touch. https://lnkd.in/e2TTccys

NYC Retina Co-founders, Jonathan Feistmann, MD and Julia Shulman, MD published their office-based surgical findings in Retina Times. They collaborated with Omar Shakir, MD to present their findings on over 700 successful retinal procedures. "Of the first 700 consecutive OBS cases, there were no incidences of emergency perioperative medical intervention and no patients required emergency medical care within 24 hours of surgery. There were no instances of postoperative endophthalmitis. Surgical times were comparable to those in the ASC/hospital setting. Overall, retina surgery has been safe and effective in the OBS Setting." https://lnkd.in/e_HSz6Nq #RetinaTimes?#Retina?#OfficeBasedSurgery

With more rain coming, it's interesting to look back on last week's events. Tuesday was a much longer storm with a much higher rainfall rate (in/hr). It was characterized by peaks of intense rain strung between more typical downfall rates. Friday was mild by comparison, with shorter duration and a steadier flow. Tuesday's rain highlights the importance of understanding how our stormwater systems handle not just the amount of rain, but the absorption rates. The quick succession of the events reminds us that these systems have to hold water, but they need to dry out fairly quickly as well in preparation for the next one.
