The Conservation Fund just surpassed 100 acquisitions for parks, trails and greenspace in the City of Atlanta! We're only a few new parks away from crossing 1,000 acres of greenspace added since we began our partnership with the City 20 years ago.

For farmers and ranchers, it’s time for planting decisions, for calving and lambing, for lining up their financial capital and markets for a busy season, and more. But this year, it’s different:?across the country, tens of thousands of farmers and farmer-serving organizations have been thrown into limbo by an unprecedented freeze of federal funding. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is currently withholding payments owed under signed, lawful contracts, causing turmoil across the food system. ?? Tell Congress!! ?? About a dozen Mid-Atlantic farmers attended a House Agriculture Committee hearing on the state of the farm economy this week to share stories of how they’re being impacted by the current freeze on USDA grant payments. Elisa Lane, of Two Boots Farm, and Laura Beth Resnick, of Butterbee Farm, told Senior Staff Reporter Lisa Held they were awarded Renewable Energy Assistance Program grants. They’ve already installed the solar arrays on their farms. Now, they’re waiting for the reimbursements agreed to in their contracts. ?? As the seasons change, so does life here on the farm. We want to share our deepest gratitude to Hector, Albertino, Juanes, and Andrae, who have all been such an important part of our team. Hector and Albertino have headed back to Honduras for the winter. They will be returning in the spring—we’re so thankful for the energy and care they’ve brought to the farm. Juanes is stepping away from fieldwork, but you can still catch him at Sceptre Brewing Arts during Wednesday CSA pickups—say hello and ask about his new project! Andrae is taking a big leap by enlisting in the Air Force, and we pray he will continue to thrive and prosper.
