New York City-based commercial real estate development firm Zyyo has officially closed the deal to buy land for the highly anticipated 27-story Downtown tower. Announced earlier this year, the planned development, named One Forty West, will feature a 300-room hotel on the corner of 2nd and Market Streets. The site is adjacent to the Kentucky International Convention Center and the soon to open Canopy Hotel, which is another project being developed by the firm. Zyyo’s Louisville portfolio is extensive with several projects planned for the Downtown and NuLu areas. The firm recently purchased the NuLu building that previously housed “Harvest” restaurant. Additionally in the same block, they own 622 E. Market and 620 E. Market — which is collectively referred to as the "Zen 620" development. This new project will include Sake A Go Go, nine apartment units, and a ground level restaurant called Zen Cafe. Our newest interactive public art installation has arrived in Downtown! The new installation features four stationary bikes that emit light and sound when pedaled. The installation is best enjoyed at night. The public art experience can be found at the entrance of the Belvedere, 5th Street and Main Street, now through mid-December. The program features rotating art installations in public spaces around Downtown for the next year. All installations will be on display for four to six weeks and are free and open to the public. Designed by LeMonde Studio, the installation has been showcased on city streets around the world, including Singapore; New York City, NY; Milwaukee, WI; and Tempe, AZ.

From the desk of Rebecca Fleischaker… ?? “I hope that November 5 is on your calendar. It’s the day to perform our democratic right. This presidential race is probably the biggest choice for different leadership for our country in its entire 250 years. In general, our average voter turnout in Louisville is 30%. The primary race in the spring of this year saw a 13% turnout. Not stellar. Vote… because it actually matters. It matters because important issues and laws are decided by people that we put into office. And if only 30% of people are voting, then how do we know who is being represented.” Read the latest Director's Take Blog and subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/dC9SX368.
