The federal freeze and rescission of funding for Louisiana Green Corps puts our work at serious risk. Federal investments in workforce development in urban forestry, landscape management, natural resource management, and clean energy all support small and large businesses, create jobs, and build our local economy. We ask Congress and the Administration to unfreeze funding so we can continue to make New Orleans a healthier, more resilient place to live, work, and play. Please help spread the word and join us in reaching out to your representatives to ensure that the will of the people is heard. We are all in this together.

The recent federal funding freeze puts nearly $140 million in sustainability grants for New Orleans at risk, threatening critical projects that advance climate resilience, energy efficiency, and environmental justice. With 97% of our Office of Resilience & Sustainability’s 2025 budget tied to federal funds, this decision could significantly impact our work and that of our community partners. Now, more than ever, we must advocate for continued investment in sustainability to protect our communities from climate threats. If you believe in the importance of these initiatives, reach out to your representatives, uplift the work of local organizations, and stay engaged. We’re in this together.
