I recently had the honor of attending the 2024 Mayor's Annual State of the City address delivered by Mayor Andre Dickens on last week Tuesday . It was inspiring to hear about his initiatives to expand MARTA with the opening of Murphy Crossing, enhance public safety with the new public safety training center, increase affordable housing, and his commitment to the Year of the Youth program. After the event, I had the opportunity to show fellow stakeholders Natasha Simmons, Aisha Floyd, Anisa Palmer, MPA and Francine Bethune the retail location for Lotus Flower Om at Colony Square - Atlanta, GA. We discussed our entrepreneurial journeys, experiences being RICE (Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs) stakeholders, and shared insights on overcoming entrepreneurial challenges. As a first time women of color founder, I believe in building a community that fosters wellness and mindfulness, especially for high-performing black women and men who are often overlooked and stretched thin. Through slow intentional living in the fast paced hustle n’flow, Lotus Flower Om aims to support individuals in reclaiming their wholeness and elevating their emotional wellbeing through the power of scent.
