CHALLENGE/QUESTION: Lead management, staff moral and profit dealer 1 vs dealer 2. What you are seeing is inventory age buckets, how many units in each age bucket and what % of their active leads are on those cars over the last 60 days. We all know gross is made in the first 30 days and by day 30 we start losing money. Dealer 1 has 29% of their leads on 0-15 day old cars and 51% of their leads on 16-30 day old cars for a total of 80% of their active leads AND 80% OF THEIR FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY ON FRESH CARS. Dealer 2 has only 17% of their active leads and activity on 0-30 day old cars and 33% on 46-60 day old cars and 37% on 61+ day old cars, for a total of 70% of their activity on aged cars, losing money.
