Our vines. Our wines.

关于我们

The roots of Lost Draw spread deep within the Hill Country and as far as the High Plains of Texas. In the early 2000s, High Plains-based farmer Andy Timmons decided to diversify his agricultural operations to include grape growing at the original Lost Draw Vineyards site. His nephew, Andrew Sides, worked for the family farming operation and helped to expand the vineyards from 5 acres to over 50. Andrew would go on to Texas Tech to study engineering, but his passion for grape growing never faded, and a few years after graduating, he made the decision to pursue a career as a winemaker. At the time, Andrew's father-in-law Troy Ottmers owned historic land in downtown Fredericksburg that wasn’t in use. Andrew and his uncle Andy had Texas grapes to make and sell wine with. Everything came together and Lost Draw produced its first vintage in 2012 and opened its tasting room doors for the first time in 2014. Lost Draw’s aim is to grow and share the best wines that can be made using Texas-grown grapes and provide an experience and education-driven wine tasting. In addition to their estate vineyards, the team partners with some of the best vineyards in the state as a way of supporting Texas farmers. More information on their story, wines, or how to visit their tasting rooms located in Johnson City and Fredericksburg can be found at lostdraw.com, and on Facebook and Instagram @lostdrawcellars.

Please join us in congratulating our very own Kelsey Kramer, Director of Education at William Chris Wine Co., for being named one of Wine Enthusiats' 2024 Future 40 Tastemakers! Every year, Wine Enthusiast's Future 40 list recognizes a diverse set of tastemakers bringing the drinks business into the future. The Future 40 was formerly known as the 40 Under 40. In 2022, Wine Enthusiast pivoted the list to the Future 40 to better represent the inclusion this feature was always meant to convey. There is no longer any age restriction for myriad reasons. The Future 40 honorees inspire innovation. Among them are winemakers, educators, brewers, sommeliers, viticulturalists, founders, conservationists, lawyers and other professionals who find unique ways to open doors and build bridges in the industry. https://lnkd.in/gSHZB4f2
