LAPD Central Homicide Detectives recreated an iconic photo, where Central Detectives in the 1930's exited the original @lapdcentral station for a follow-up of unknown reasons. In modern times, a U.S. Courthouse stands where "Old Central" once stood at 321 West 1st St. We are #LAPDMuseum

Did you know the iconic LAPD blue wool uniforms were never blue? In the 1930's a transition period was happening. A huge change in uniforms, such as getting rid of the uniform suits, round hats, and issuing the new badge. The uniform went from a black suit to a green shirt ! Yes, a green olive uniform shirt. Some see it as olive green and others as a grayish color, But not blue. Not much is known about these green shirts and surviving remnants are scarce and probably in the hands of private collectors. Nonetheless, A very unknown part of LAPD history. Imagine if our officers still wore green shirts. You will see some pictures highlighting the green / gray shirts. We are #LAPDMuseum #history #police
