Established in 1988, L.A. Lighting designs and manufacturers commercial, industrial, institutional, and custom luminaires and retrofit solutions. The company’s sales, engineering, and manufacturing departments are located at our corporate headquarters in El Monte, California, just east of Los Angeles. At L.A. Lighting our mission is simple: “Give our customers what they want, how they want it, when they want it.” We accomplish this core objective by listening closely to our customers’ needs, then leveraging our experienced, in-house engineering team, a flexible, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, and close relationships with top tier component suppliers. Lighting is one of the last truly “Made-In-America” lighting manufacturers. Every luminaire we sell is designed and built in America, and is either manufactured to our customer’s precise specifications or available for immediate shipping from our finished goods inventory. We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the LA Lighting leadership team – Benjamin Buchanan – as our Executive Vice President! With over 25 years of invaluable experience in the lighting, controls, and energy efficiency sectors, Benjamin brings unparalleled industry knowledge and leadership to help drive LA Lighting’s mission of delivering high-quality, U.S.-made lighting products powered by the latest LED and controls technology. A proud graduate of Loyola Marymount University Business School, Benjamin’s career in lighting began as a contractor, where he worked with renowned companies such as Parke Industries, SLi Lighting, Amtech, and Sun Industries. His hands-on experience designing, selling, and project-managing retrofit projects across the country set the foundation for his expansive career. Benjamin’s journey continued with roles at top manufacturers including ALP Lighting, Bill Brown Sales, Envirobrite, Daintree Networks, GE Current, and Lightfox. His diverse exposure to a wide range of lighting and controls products has given him a holistic and well-rounded perspective of the market. In 2018, Benjamin took the entrepreneurial leap by founding Smarter Building Technologies, where he successfully merged three companies into a single vertically integrated lighting and controls powerhouse. Under his leadership, the company pioneered the design, deployment, and management of smart systems across thousands of buildings nationwide. Benjamin’s drive for excellence is fueled by his family—he is a proud husband and father of two young children. Based in Long Beach, CA, he can often be found at LA Lighting headquarters in El Monte, CA. We are excited for the future with Benjamin on board as we continue to innovate, grow, and bring the best in lighting solutions to the market!

In this time of unimaginable loss, L.A. Lighting stands with all those affected by the Los Angeles fires. As a native L.A. company, it has been devastating to watch the city we call home suffer so greatly. Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones, and to those who have lost homes. We are thankful for the first responders who are still working to contain the fires and keep our neighborhoods safe, and grateful for the outpouring of love and support being shown by people from around the world. Thankfully, all of our team members are safe, and our factory is operating normally. As we look ahead, we are committed to helping Los Angeles recover and rebuild. Ours is a strong, resilient community, and while its surface may be scarred, our roots remain intact.?
